make information and knowledge available
Traditionally, Sahaj or ‘Sahaja’ means joy that evolves from the soul, naturally. And true joy is derived from sharing knowledge and wisdom. And devising ways to make information and knowledge available to one and all is the greatest of services to mankind.
On this note, SREI Sahaj E-Village Limited has taken a phenomenal initiative to make information and knowledge reach all corners of the country. SREI Sahaj, as a subsidiary of SREI Infrastructure Finance Limited, has delved into bridging the digital divide between urban and rural India.
Recognizing the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Manmohan Singh’s vision of a rural India that goes hand in hand with its urban counterpart in having unlimited access to all Government services, SREI Sahaj has embarked upon a mammoth e-Governance Project. SREI Sahaj has taken up the establishment of Common Service Centres (CSCs) that were identified as one of the 4 pillars of the NeGP of the Government of India.
SREI Sahaj has already acquired the permission to establish around 4937 CSCs in West Bengal, 5540 CSCs in Bihar, 2833 in Assam, 1045 CSCs in Tamil Nadu, 2282 in Orissa and 8118 in Uttar Pradesh. These CSCs are being called as Sahaj Tathya Mitra Kendra, Sahaj Vasudha Kendra, Sahaj Arunadoy Kendra, Sahaj Pudu Sewai Mayam, Sahaj Biju Sewa Kendra and Sahaj Jan Sewa Kendra in West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Orissa and Uttar Pradesh respectively.
