company overview

SREI Sahaj E-Village Limited has taken a phenomenal initiative to make information and knowledge reach all corners of the country. SREI Sahaj, as a subsidiary of SREI Infrastructure Finance Limited, has delved into bridging the digital divide between urban and rural India.

Recognizing the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Manmohan Singh’s vision of a rural India that goes hand in hand with its urban counterpart in having unlimited access to all Government services, SREI Sahaj has embarked upon a mammoth e-Governance Project. SREI Sahaj has taken up the establishment of Common Service Centres (CSCs) that were identified as one of the 4 pillars of the NeGP of the Government of India.

These CSCs are nodal centres from where the rural population will be able to access all information and services available to the urban population. SREI Sahaj has already acquired the permission to establish around 10,502 CSCs in West Bengal and Bihar, 8118 CSCs in Uttar Pradesh, 2833 in Assam and 1045 in Tamil Nadu.

"You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end, each of us must work for our own improvement and, at the same time, share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most useful." - Madam Curie
